Kindle Fire Specific Functionality

The Kindle Fire version -- as well as the iPhone and iPod touch, iPad, and stock Android versions -- of the EveryMac app makes it simple to browse Macs by series, year, processor and more; lookup Macs by precise identifiers; filter Macs on category screens; filter exact details on individual Mac specs screens; compare Macs side-by-side; and save personal lists of your Macs and devices.

The Kindle Fire version of the EveryMac app specifically features:

  • A Kindle Fire friendly look-and-feel designed to complement the Amazon Fire OS.
  • A dynamic interface that accommodates the different display sizes and resolutions of all Kindle Fire mobile and tablet devices.
  • A single column Browse layout for one-handed operation for the Kindle Fire Phone and and a two column Browse layout for larger Kindle Fire HD and HDX tablets.
  • Identifiers within flip down 'Quick Specs' on all category pages as well as thumbnail images if the screen is large enough to accommodate them.
  • Lookup Macs by model number, order number, serial number and more. Larger Kindle Fire HD and HDX tablets support a two column 'Lookup' like the iPad and Android versions, also.
  • The option to filter Macs on category screens by typing a portion of its name rather than having to scroll.
  • The option of typing words -- like processor, RAM, or an identifier -- on specific Mac specs screens to quickly present details on the same screen.
  • Compare two or more Macs or devices on one screen with a 'swipe' of the finger depending on display size.
  • The option to define categories on one screen and have each category contain a list of your personal systems and devices with the 'My Cloud' function. Larger Kindle Fire HD and HDX tablets provide enhanced functionality to maximize screen usage, too.
  • Support for native share functionality for Mac and Apple devices specs links with the 'Share' option.

Device Requirements

The EveryMac app for Kindle Fire has been tested extensively both with Amazon's excellent simulator and on a 7' Kindle Fire HDX. However, the app still may be subject to future tweaks and bug fixes. It will be faster on fast, new devices and slower on slower, older devices. It will be faster on faster network connections, too.
