    - There are two ways to install the free software from LastPass. You can use the link provided after you set up your account, or by visiting LastPass.com. We'll go to the home page of LastPass.com to install our software. I'll install using the Chrome browser. Your installation process may be a little different depending on your computer's operating system and the browser you use, but a lot of the steps will be the same. LastPass software is free. Once you're on the home page, click the middle red button labeled Download Free. LastPass will determine for you which download it believes is best for your computer. You can choose a different download option by clicking any of the choices in the large red and gray menu bar, such as Windows, Mac, Linux or mobile. We'll use the recommended download, which includes the universal installer for browser extensions in the major browsers. To begin the download, click the red download button on the right side of your screen next to your installer of choice. Depending on your computer system, you may have a pop up window asking you to confirm if you would like to run the program or you may see a download in the bottom of your screen like mine. Finish installing like you would normally. For me, I'll click the downloaded file link. Accept any authorizations to download during this process as well. In the next screen, choose your language. Then, click the large red button labeled Install LastPass. You may receive a request to close any open browsers. If you do, click the red button labeled close programs. Make sure you save any work you need in your open browser windows before you click this button. Once you click the button, all browser windows will close and any unsaved data will be lost. In the next window, click the button labeled Log in to Existing Account. Enter the email and master password you set up in the previous movie where we created your account. Then, click the red Log In button on the bottom right of the window. If you have any passwords stored within your browsers, you may recieve a notice asking if you'd like to import them into your LastPass. You can choose to import all of these passwords and have LastPass delete them out of your browser. Your passwords are more secure within LastPass than they are in your browser, so this is a recommended action. If you choose not to import your browser passwords, you can click the bottom No Thanks button in red. Click the red Import button in the bottom right if you would like LastPass to import these passwords and delete them from your computer. They'll then be available in your LastPass vault. I'm going to choose to import mine. LastPass is now installed on your computer. In the next movie, we'll talk about enabling the LastPass extension in your browsers, which will make your work with LastPass much easier.

You asked, we listened, and now it’s here! LastPass for Mac is approved and available in the App Store today. Packed with the password management features you love, our latest addition to the LastPass family is perfect for your Mac.

With convenient new features like Quick Search, you have instant access to logins, passwords, and the other important details you’ve stored in LastPass. We’re bringing a fresh design, and giving you more ways to use and manage your data. LastPass for Mac is the hub for your online life, so that throughout the day, at work and at home, you can get more done and be more secure.

Here’s a tour of the features that make this app a must-have for any Mac user:

Faster Online Logins

Our favorite feature in the LastPass Mac App is the Quick Search. Whenever you need to find a password or Secure Note, just call up the Quick Search with the Shift+Command+L hotkey (⇧⌘L) or from the LastPass Menu Bar Icon.

It lets you instantly find what you need, so you can keep interruptions to your workflow to a minimum. Once the Quick Search is open, enter a keyword to find any login or Secure Note and use the Launch button to open the website in your default browser. Then LastPass instantly fills the username and password, and logs in for you.

A Streamlined Workflow

Just like our browser extensions and mobile apps, LastPass for Mac offers a Vault where you can conveniently edit, organize, and manage your passwords, Secure Notes, and more. It’s the same experience you’re accustomed to in the browser, optimized for the Mac desktop.

LastPass for Mac is also built to offer the same convenient offline access available with the LastPass browser extensions. Your data is backed up automatically with a secure local copy, so it’s available even without an Internet connection. And when you connect again, LastPass securely syncs your data so your Vault is always up-to-date.
